Unfortunately, we will not be offering the Health & Wellness Grant in 2023, but do have a variety of health and wellness strategies/goals for 2023.

We will continue to:
  • Work closely with food banks and schools to address food insecurity.  More nutritious options for children in their buddy packs and concession stand menus are very important to us.
  • Work with parks & recreation departments and park boards to ensure our county has amazing parks with plenty of options for physical activity for everyone.
  • Support public locations where food is prepared, to assure they have the training and equipment to safely serve it.  (Fairgrounds, Eldon Pool, Tuscumbia Park, School/Park Concessions, etc.)
  • Partner with community-based organizations with like missions

2023 goals include
  • Expanding our partnership with schools to prioritize healthy initiatives
  • Developing new partnerships with large employers to assist with wellness education, activities, and benefits

We have amazing staff dedicated to making their community a healthier place to live, work, and play, but we also need your help!  Our county is consistently lower than State averages in a variety of health disparities and conditions, including but not limited to diabetes, obesity, and hypertension.

MCHC is very interested in hearing your ideas on how to improve health and wellness in our community. Never hesitate to call us or send us an email at mchc@millercountyhealth.com.  We may be able to assist with technical assistance, funding, or other resources, including bringing other organizations into the conversation!
